  • Kaitlynn Schuster

    Fitness Supervisor/Personal Trainer

    Kaitlynn is a graduate of Western Michigan University (WMU) earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). She is currently working towards her certification as an ACSM Cancer Exercise Trainer. Kaitlynn also has her ACSM Exercise is Medicine Level 2 credential and is a TRX Qualified Instructor. Kaitlynn enjoys being in and around the water and has received her Water Safety Instructor certification through the American Red Cross and her FloatFit Instructor certification through AquaPhysical. She teaches children swim classes along with private lessons at the Dexter Wellness Center. Kaitlynn danced most of her life doing ballet, tap, jazz, and pom-pom. She was also a member of WMU’s dance team. With this hands on experience, she focuses on technique, flexibility, and balance in her trainings. She also has experience working with the special needs population. Kaitlynn believes exercise will help any individual feel stronger and more confident. Outside of the center, Kaitlynn enjoys spending time with her friends and family. She also loves traveling and exploring nature.

  • Lauren Yoder

    Medical Integration Coordinator/Personal Trainer

    Lauren is a graduate of Spring Arbor University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Health and Exercise Science. Lauren is a certified Personal Trainer through the National Exercise Trainers Association. She is also a certified water aerobics instructor through the Aquatics Exercise Association and the Arthritis Foundation. Lauren works in the health and wellness industry to assist individuals achieve their max potential by working her training clients in an effective manner to accomplish their fitness goals. Lauren’s specialties include functional fitness training, senior fitness, arthritis, osteoporosis, and working with special needs populations.

  • Nicole Swisher

    Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer

    Nicole is a graduate of Dexter High School. She attended Western Michigan University where she received her B.S. in Exercise Science. Nicole is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. She has her Exercise is Medicine level I credential and is working towards her level II credential. She is a TRX Qualified Instructor. She has always had a passion for fitness and well-being. She believes that fitness is a key role in maintaining a healthy and long life. Nicole likes to spread her knowledge in hopes that it will improve one’s life. Outside of the center, Nicole enjoys being outdoors, running, traveling, and being with friends and family.

  • Kamil Lawrence

    Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer

    Kamil graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with her B.S. in Exercise Science and soon after became a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine. Her passion for health and fitness began at a young age when she was first introduced to team sports and continued to grow throughout her time as an athlete. Several years (and injuries) later, her interests eventually moved towards injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as general health and wellness. Kamil believes that in order to maximize the benefits of exercise it is important to find a way to incorporate it into your daily life in ways that are enjoyable to you. Functional, circuit, and high-intensity intervals are some of Kamil's favorite training styles because both cardiovascular and strength training can be incorporated into a timely session, while also building strength in a functional way that translates to our everyday activities. Kamil works hard to help her clients find their niche and to help them achieve their health and fitness goals by focusing on the importance of education and sustainability. When she's not at the DWC, Kamil enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing and listening to music, and learning everything she can through books, film, and new experiences!

  • Evan Browne

    Evan comes to the Dexter wellness center with nearly 10 years of experience in the area of strength and conditioning and skill sport development. He is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer and ACE Certified Sports Conditioning Specialist. With his degree in Fitness and Health from Durham College and both collegiate and professional career as a basketball player for multiple seasons, he was named league MVP in Australia and led the league in scoring multiple times. Evans passion for training and making athletes function to their peak performance levels has taken him to opportunities in assisting with the speed, conditioning and agility training for numerous Olympic and professional athletes. His special focus on treatment and injury prevention aids in the success of his athletes. Evan worked with Detroit Pistons as an assistant strength and conditioning coach focusing on skill development, body development and nutrition. His passion for fitness comes from the dream that lives inside every one of us to better ourselves every day. Evan is a great mentor, role model, and coach to help inspire athletes and everyday people to train hard and have fun while achieving their goals.

    Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer

    Zach is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University earning a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science. He is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine. Zach enjoys working with all age groups. He has experience working in a physical therapy setting and excels at functional and post-rehab fitness. Zach is a strong believer that exercise is essential to both physical and mental health and he firmly believes that with the right program, a consistent and enjoyable exercise routine is achievable for anyone. Outside of the center, Zach enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves being active. He likes hiking, backpacking, and playing pretty much any sport.

  • Sharon

    Fitness Specialist

    Sharon is a graduate of Western Illinois University earning a Bachelor's degree in Health Education/Sports Medicine and a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology. She is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Counsel of Exercise (ACE). After seven years in the Sports Medicine field she made a career switch in to the Fire Service. Sharon earned a Bachelor's degree in Fire Science from Madonna University. She also is a Licensed EMT; AED/CPR certified; holds a certification in PHTLS (Pre hospital trauma life support); and is a certified level 1 & 2 crew coach. Sharon participated in numerous sports throughout high school and college. With this experience she has volunteered as an Athletic Trainer at the Olympic Training Center in Marquette, MI and at Olympic Sports Festivals; coached youth soccer and basketball; coached high school crew. Most recently she has begun volunteering as a Special Olympics basketball coach and working with the adaptive sports program at the University of Michigan. Her focuses are on sports injury rehabilitation; mind-body focus for lifting posture/technique; proper rowing technique; and overall health.

    Fitness Specialist/Personal Trainer

    Frank is an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist. He graduated from Washtenaw Community College with a certificate in Health Care Foundations, and from Eastern Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. He has a particular interest in anatomy and thinks that everyone should acquire a basic knowledge so that they understand how to exercise safely and effectively. He believes that individuals should find exercises they enjoy, and that fitness is a lifelong pursuit. He believes exercise should consist primarily of functional training, targeting areas to strengthen and improve balance and focusing on form in order to maximize gains and avoid injury. Learn how to exercise without overly relying on equipment and machines. Frank enjoys riding bikes, roller skating, causal sports, constructing with LEGO, reading, and exploring food with unusual combinations of ingredients and spices.
